vacay
I’ll be away on vacation until Sept 10th, so note that anything ordered in the shop will have to wait until then to be shipped. And once I’m back, I’m excited to restock the shop with some new pieces that are in the works!
a practice in functional ceramics
Bluelike Ceramics is an experimental practice in wheel-thrown pottery.
Bluelike is a platform to grow my practice, try things out, and maybe even expand the circle of possibilities within functional ceramic art.
Some pieces are designed for thoughtful use, others to just feel good in your hands. Each piece is handmade in a collective studio space in Amsterdam.
Every Bluelike piece aims to be a small rebellion against boring readymade objects!
Enter the blue inner circle to stay updated with new releases, exclusive invites, and giveaways!
Bluelike is a playground for design. New shapes, new glazes, and new ideas are always in the works. The goal is to push the boundaries of functional art and create pieces that are both beautiful and useful.

I added some new stuff to the shop!
I've been experimenting with using recycled clay from the studio for matcha mugs, leaving the marbled mixture exposed at the base and layering some experimental glaze combos on top.
The recycled clay looks really nice when burnished and left unglazed. The trick is not mixing it up too much while centering and spinning it into form...
And I've made some double-loop-handled-quadrupedal mugs. Yes, that's two loops handles and four feet, kind of like a centaur? Why not
The website's done and new pieces are available in the shop! Yes, it finally happened.
I added a handy new feature where a little blue or red dot appears next to the price of pieces in the shop. A blue dot = in stock, a red dot = out of stock.
And if you see something out of stock you want, just let me know and I'll see if I can make another.
With the website (pretty much) done, I'll be launching with new ceramic pieces in the shop and possibly a little party.
I'll send an email out to all subscribers when more details are planned!
After many hours of developing this website, it's finally nearing completion and is in beta!
Why spend so much time making a ceramics website?
Well, because it was a fun challenge, and also because I want this to be the go-to place for anyone to see and purchase what I’ve made. By making the website, everything’s in one place and the process is hopefully smooth and enjoyable.
There are probably still a few bugs, so let me know what you think, and if there are things that could be improved!
